Broadway Bijou
September 2003-October 2005
Well, it is with a heavy heart, that my week of shit continues. I regret to inform everyone that my lovely hamster, Bijou, has passed away at the ripe old age or two years and a month. She was a wonderful pet, but had been sick for a few months now, and I'm happy to see her pass and not suffer anymore. If anyone wants to post a kind word feel free. I'll miss ya Bijou.
Guppyville
In a mysterious twist, all of my male guppies have passed away, withy four females and an unsure number of babies remaining. Have the females cannibalized all the males and possibly the babies? Time will tell.
Other News
Went to the movie Waiting last night. Funny shit, wow. I recommend it to anyone. We also fit in three games of Betrayal at House on the Hill, with the traitor winning two of three. Tonight we are heading to the Corn Maze, should be a good time. All for now!

They train you to teach lesson plans. They tell you have good conduct in your classroom. You learn to deal with unruly students. You get used to kids failing. What they don't teach you as a teacher is how to deal with tragedy. The fact is you don't get used to it. You might grow callous to it, but you don't get used to it. Sunday night I received a voice mail from Mr. Tasson, the principal at the school I teach at. He said he was asking for all teachers for Monday to arrive 45 minutes early for a meeting. Already I could tell what was coming, just not from which angle.
As the twenty-some of us sat in the room, Mr. Tasson arrived. He broke the news to us, that a student in the district had committed suicide. Her name was LeAnne. She was a sweetheart. There was a collective silence from us as we listened to the details of it. I'm sure it will be in the paper, and out of respect to the family I won't say the matter in which she did it, just that her mom found her in the early morning on Sunday. It came as a shock to everyone, as she was just promoted to the Varsity basketball team and was a leading player on that squad. He also hung out with some of the better kids in the school. Now, I wasn't at ground zero. She was in 10th grade, and I spend the day in the middle school. Her sister is a 7th grader and that was the effect in the school today. Both girls were very social and well known in our school district.
My assignment was switched for the day, so as I got her sister's class for homeroom. She didn't come to school, but all of her close friend were in the class. They had prepared a statement that each homeroom teacher was to read. Luckily, Mr. Sjoholm, whose classes I taught today was still there and read the statement to the class. The day was very somber and there were many counselors on hand to help with the kids who broke down, of which there were some. All in all a surreal experience to say the least.
My own experience with LeAnne was short but still very meaningful. She always had a smile on her face and was paying her full attention to someone, even if it wasn't always the teacher. She was in my class that I took over as a student teacher, so I knew her pretty well at that time. She was there, my first day as a teacher. I was her sub for a year and a half since then. The kids actually always teased her that she had a crush on "Mr. Fleming", all I know is that she was a sweet girl, who chose to go well before her time.
I guess it didn't really hit until Wal-mart tonight. I was in a sour mood and by the time I told Katie, when she was shopping, I was almost on the verge of tears. I didn't tell all of my coworkers, so I'm assuming that they thought I was pissy most of the night. Kelli said something to me while she was shopping and I almost hit her in the face. She had no idea though, and I would have probably treated someone the same way.
You never really can prepare for something like this. Its another day I'll never forget. A community is in mourning and my heart goes out to LeAnne and her family.
God Take Care of Her,

Okay, lots of updates
Red Sox Sigh. The heroic season is over. And thus my interest dies along with it, except for waiting for the Yankees to lose.
Guppyville Well, I traded my fish, or half of them rather. My two Gourammis (sp?) and my dear Catfish. The funny thing was that they didn't know what to give me for my catfish. They were supposed to give me one-third of what they could sell them for. They couldn't tell what kind he was so they ended up giving me 11 dollars for the Catfish (which I bought for six or seven) and 4 for the other two. So I traded them for 7 guppies and still had .19 left over. This was on 10-6.
7 fish started
1 died, and was 1 replacement fish was recieved
7 fish again
at least 2 babies were found this morning.
9 total! Weeeeeeeee!
ALL FOR NOW!

Red Sox are in!
Big news of course if that the Red Sox have made the playoffs again. Here's to playoffs in the greatest sport known to man.
In other news, the Texas Rangers are my heros. Yes, that should at least make Karen happy.
The lowly Rangers, with no hope of making the playoffs, decided to give their three best hitters the day off. This isn't to say they didn't play at all, they did put in three innings before they got their standing ovation from the crowd in Texas, but they were removed before they could effectively ensure the game's decision. Buck Showalter the Texas Rangers manager, and former Yankee skipper, felt his players needed the attention, and with a 4-1 who would think the already playoff bound Los Angeles Angels would rally. Not Showalter...or so he claims.
The Angels rallied to win 7-4 with the big three out for Texas. The Yankees unfortunately needed the Angels to lose to win home field advantage. The debate rages as to whether or not Showalter tried to screw over the Yankees...
To you Mr. Showalter...I salute.
Fuck the Yankees!
