I must start off by saying I am in an absolutely wonderful mood today. Thanks to music for getting me there. I love how it can just dictate what kind of mood you can be in...merely with a song.

I realized a few things today, first, I don't know where life is taking me or where I will end up next year, but I know two things as of today...

1-I want to spend summer up here with my girlfriend and my friends. I LOVE Marquette in the summertime. I want to frolick on the beaches with my friends, I want to swim, I want to run, hug and cuddle, I want to go to Frosty Treats, and I want to gather with everyone when it rains to watch scary movies. I need to be up here this summer. I'm sure my parents will simply hate this, but its my life I guess and I'm almost 24, so fuck it. I do need to find a job though.

2-I realize today how simply awesome the power of love is. At this moment, even though I can't see her and I'm trusting her that she is behaving herself, I know that I can do that. At this moment right now, I want to spend the rest of my life with Lindsay L. Hilliard-will-some-day-hopefully-be-Fleming. :) I love you dear. I heard our song today...made me think of you.

***sidenote...just finished listening to Lennon's debut album. Holy shit. Listen to this sometime. What a fucking variety. She will go far in the music biz. By far the best new album (especially for a debut) that I have heard in a long time. Let me know if you want a copy of this baby. Whew.

Well, its official. The group for Florida has left. I got a call from Lindsay at the Milwaukee airport. Hopefully I'll have a message when I return tonight saying that she made it safely. This is a big test for us, as we haven't been apart that long, and especially in a position where we would have temptation in front of our eyes. I don't really lust after other women besides Lindsay, which says a lot in my mind. Lindsay says she feels the same and I completely believe her. However, you always gotta be careful when one of the six passengers is her ex-boyfriend. (yes the one that she left for me) I know how temptation works, but I also know how love works. Lindsay always says I have to trust her, so that's what I'm going to do. We have to be able to clear a week apart with one of us on crowded beaches with millions of hot college guys, if we are to have an ice cubes chance in hell at the 3 years we will enevitably spend apart when I leave school. I hope their having fun down there, they deserve it. 3 of my best friends and my girl. Hope you guys are having a blast!!! PS-I better get a souviner

Well fuck the duck, I got a speeding ticket on the way to school this morning. Please leave comments with your worst speeding stories. I also got the highest marks possible on ALL of my half way evaluations at school today, even so far that they called Mrs. Ojibway and asked if I could sub more than the allowed 10 days. So today I realized something. I'm not sure what it is...jealousy, fear of moving on, anger, or whatnot, I have no idea. Today Lindsay got a job and it was one of the happiest days of her life. Now this is incidental to how I feel. I'm happy for her and what not, I only bring it up because it was and should have been a happy day for both of us. I am very, very unhappy for several reasons.

First and foremost, I only have two months left with my friends and most importantly of all, the girl I may someday marry, Lindsay. This saddens me beyond repair, and to be honest I know I have a lot of things to complete while I'm still here, but I want more and more to see Lindsay everyday. The days and nights I am away from her are sad and empty to me. Don't say that its childish for me to feel this way, as I will have to wait three years before I can see Lindsay on a day to day basis like I can now. At first I thought we should wean ourselves away from each other gradually, so the big split wasn't as hard, but now I'm beginning to think that I'm giving up what time I do have with her and my friends before I leave. Its so hard to be the oldest one in college, because it means you leave everything behind you love--including your best friends.

Secondly, the Florida trip. I am ecstatic that Lindsay is going, I just wish I was going as well. I'm not jealous of the fact she will be in Florida, but I am jealous that it is an experience we can't share together. I would like nothing more to share our first experience in anything, Florida included. Not to mention that I'll be alone for a week or so. I don't really mind that as I have lots to do, but still its less time I have with sweetums.

Lastly, and this surprised me more than anything, I am beginning to resent Thursday nights. The purpose was to get the ladies stronger friendships, which I believe it has greatly done, but it seems like its just another night I don't get to see Lindsay. I'm not bitching...well no fuck that, I am BITCHING. I just cried the whole fucking day and my eyes hurt so bad. I really wanted her to be here with me tonight, especially so we could 'celebrate' her getting a job this summer. And no I don't mean sex you fucking pervs, I'm talking about cuddling with adoration in our eyes for each other. But sadly I don't get this opportunity either.

Breaking it down away from school and sleeping, workign and meetings, it just seems like time is shrinking away from me to spend with her.

I'm sure more tears will come tonight, but I hope they are done.

Well, being blessed with good news lately. Lindsay got her Summer Orientation job. Last night we had one of the funest (yes, i'm using fun-est as a job) dates ever! Applebees, fish store, and 50 First Dates. It was very fun! My review at school went very well also. It was very positive and they may waive my fourth time, as they say I am doing so well.

Well, being blessed with good news lately. Lindsay got her Summer Orientation job. Last night we had one of the funest (yes, i'm using fun-est as a job) dates ever! Applebees, fish store, and 50 First Dates. It was very fun! My review at school went very well also. It was very positive and they may waive my fourth time, as they say I am doing so well.

Well, were in hour 3 of monkey ball after over an hour of dance dance with lindsay's little brother. He's really funny and good times had by all. Too bad NMU Hockey sucked tonight...and that's just being nice. Dinner was excellent at Red Lobster yesterday. I was surprised to see Lindsay home when I got here for seminar with her family. Kinda odd to come home to a housefull of people that don't live in your apartment in your apartment. I was even more surprised to see her sleeping on the chair when I got out of seminar. I thought she was going to be with her family. Still it was nice, as we could nap together. Good day overall! Laughed hard and smiled lots. Really looking into this RD thing. I'm super excited at the concept of staying up here and getting a masters! I'll turn it in within the next week. I've worked for five different facets of housing, so its worth it. And after talking to several "higher ups", I am encouraged to try at least.

Well, I'm in a pretty self-loathing mood right now. Lindsay just left to girl's night and as I usually do, I made a bad decision. It comes down to power/ego v. what's right/keeping your mouth shut. I spurted off some facts I probably shouldn't have, making Lindsay weep, and then making myself feel HORRIBLE. I know I've made some mistakes in past relationships, and I feel bad that I am still making them. I do things to take care of those I love, and its with them in mind that I do things, but I always forget to look at the big picture. I think its great that Lindsay and I haven't fought since we began dating, but it still hurts when I let her down and vice versa. I just can't say how bad I feel. I know I have some wonderful friends up here, the best I've ever had, and I've been trying all semester to let them have lives that don't include me, cause truth be told, that's how it will be when I am gone. Not to say that they won't get along just fine when I am gone...its just that I figure in my own mind if I gradually become a minor player in their lives instead of a focus point, maybe they won't miss me as much all at once or think its odd with me not being there. I'm trying to do what I can for everyone I care for, but its not always working as well as I had hoped. This was a good example of that...

Forgot to mention something I said in school today during prep hour. After calling an emergency meeting of 11 boys in my 8th grade class the girls were wondering what was going on. It was actually for thier group assignment, but I told the girls it was a secret meeting. Of course they responded "I wanna go to the secret meeting." I then jokingly asked if they had seen who went in the room, and responded

"There are more knuckles in there than on a pair of hands!"

I just found the phrase amusing!

Well school has been really stressful this week, with me now putting in over 40 hours a week there, its getting kinda nuts. I'm running six classes now and have an after school program in the works based on the Horror Genre and its influx of English terminology. If it goes through it should be fun...if they reject the proposal, I will trying a teambuilder class (hey any excuse to play Mafia and actually get it on a resume is good by me!). I also signed up as a substitute for the school district today. I have to pay for my stupid English education test tonight, another 70 dollars down the poopsticks. Oh well. My eyes really hurt this evening. The "In-Laws" are here in town, so we'll see how that goes. Lindsay's brother Nick is staying with us sometime, probably Tomorrow night. We're introducing him to the exciting world of dance dance! Hehe. WOW! 111 TOTAL BANDS AS OF TODAY! YIPPEE! 100 better, 10 worse, and ol' DMB themselves.

For Valentine's I made Lindsay a poem and read it to her before bed. It wasn't much, but I think it summed up my feeling pretty well. I also will be adding the comment section back to get imput from others or if they have a band then think should be added to the list.

Ode for Valentine’s Day

Someone asked me yesterday why I am doing this "contest". Well, there are two reasons, and niether one is to piss anyone off. In fact, why would you even get pissed off at this stupid little thing in someone's journal? That's just silly! Reason one is that I've wanted a list of my favorite bands to complete a favorite song/artist list I've wanted to do. So i guess brainstorming is the answer. The second reason is that I just like challenging myself on the matter. How many bands can one person possibly name only off the top of their head? I'm challenging myself not to use any website, or cds or anything, and just doing this off of memory and knowledge. Seems like a good challenge to me. I guess in other ideas, I usually write about my day also, so in a way, this is helping me to update my journal also. Anyway...I know you all want it....so here ya go....

A rare two post day, but I also feel the need to post this...

***account from today in school*** So it was 845 this morning and I went down to the cafeteria for the 'colonial interviews' that we have been working on for the last night month or so. I had only one to give today, a Mr. Eli Wolf, who is one of my eighth graders. Well I found my spot next to the storekeeper sign (whom I was portraying) and starting going over Eli's colonial resume, application, and cover letter. This lady comes up from behind me and says

"Are you Mr. Fleming?"
"Yes..."
"Oh good. I wanted to meet you. My name is ------- Wolf. Jacob and Eli's mother."
"Oh hi, nice to meet you."
"I wanted to meet you cause the other day Eli was talking about you..."
---oh crap...what did I do...---
"Oh? Nothing bad I hope..."
"Well Eli was talking to Jacob (who is also one of my eighth graders), and he said "You know Jacob, we have some of the best student teachers around in our school."
"Oh wow, that's good to hear he thinks so!"
"He said that they were all good, Mr. (Ben) Maier, Mr. (Jay) Tasson, and Mr. (Jon) LeMire, but that Mr. Fleming was the king of them all."
---holy shit...i'm blown away...---
"Wow, really? That's amazing! I'm glad he thinks so!"
"Yes, he said you always make everything easier to understand and that you explain everything so well."
"I don't know what to say, that's just great. I'm glad he thinks I'm doing a good job."
"Well it sounds like you are. How old are you?"
"23."
"Oh, he figured you were older, that maybe you took a few years off and went back to graduate from college."
"We'll I've been there long enough!"

She then went on to ask me about my major/minor, when I graduate and where I was from. It was one of the biggest compliments I've received, as I've only been there 6 weeks or so, and already a parent was praising me. It was a touching moment in my professional career.

Oh and in case you were wondering, after all of that...yes, Eli passed the interview and got the job.

How could I turn him down at that point? ;)

Well, the missus has Mono...hope to fuck i don't catch it or goodbye student teaching, hello another semester. Well, it was finally set last night. Again after 3 years of trying, my fabled trip to Mall of America is just that...fabled. Due to money costs (I've been crunching every possible variable on the trip) and the fact that I and my friends are poor, has forced us to reconsider. While a bunch of them are going to Florida for spring break, I have a four day span in April to do something, and you bet your sweet ass I'm going to do it. So, the plan has been changed to a 3 nighter to the mystical land of Wisconsin yet again. However, each time I go there its for something different, and this time is no different. Possible schedule will/may include:

A large indoor water park...ohhh...85 degrees and slides=happiness
Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum
Any of 5 possible Haunted Houses
A large Aquarium
A trip to the mall
A few nights at either Monica's house or Katie's house
and above all....

One last time to have fun with friends while I'm still a college student!

R122Angel: Cody- He was the first guy i met at Northern. Basically the first person I met. He came in and introduced himself to me as my RA. That whole first weekend I was at school he "took me under his wing." Cody, you taught me how to think outside of the "bible belt box" that i had grown up in, and i dont know if i can ever truly thank you for that. Cody and I became close that weekend. Many heart to hearts happened in the days to come, and I came out of my first weekend at college with a great guy as a great friend. Cody, you have been there for me through the good boyfriends and the bad(really they were all bad except nate), but you listined when i needed to vent about them, and you let me learn for myself some of lifes very important lessons... remember that night we stayed up till 7am just talking about what had been going on in our lives. Cody, you have been a big part in making me the woman i am today and I know you have a highly full schedule right now and i know you will be leaving soon.... but just so you... the impact you have made on me and the times we have shared are the reasons why i call you my best friend.. not nessesarily cause we are still the closest.... but becasue you have touched my life in such a way that there is no other phrase that could describe you better

I don't think anyone can go through a day without saying some kind of negative thing about me. While I'm flattered that you require talking about me in your life, you really need not drag my name through the mud. This will be my last post, so destroy it, delete it, or whatever. It doesn't pay to make amends any more for I just keep getting knocked down for it by everyone involved.

What can I say? Have I been outplayed by two monotonous psycho bitches who are hell bent one making my life a living hell by 1-trying to again separate my friends from me, 2-trying to incite my girlfriend to be mad at me, and 3-stick their noses where it doesn't belong. As I stated in all the journals, I don't care anymore. This is so stupid, and I for one do not have the time or emotion for it. I don't know if you think this is all fun and games, but I can tell you its not to me. I'm not trying to keep this alive for the sake of arguing or having something to say, I'm merely trying to end this damn thing. Last night I got very emotional. I guess it wouldn't matter what I said since you will think this is stupid anyway, so I'll say it and risk my manhood. I cried. I left the room my girlfriend was in, hopped in the shower and just stood there crying. I hate this stuff. I hated it last semester, and I hate it now. For some reason that I still can't comprehend people need to keep me in their life. I see this now. While I thought this was only a positive quality they returned to me, clearly I was wrong. It works both ways, as even those that hate me still feel the need to talk about me daily. I will not let this get to me any more, so I issue the following statements to everyone in my life. They are true, genuine, and sincere. You won't have the opportunity to mock me, as I did away with my comments option a long time ago. Like I said at the beginning, read if you want, don't if you don't...at this point I could give a shit less.

Here we go. (and yes, I wrote these fully expecting everyone to read everyone else, and yes that in a way is the point. This is not a popularity contest, or who is the best friend. Just messages to everyone.)

Lindsay-Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for being a wonderful person. If people are jealous or do not like what we have-fuck them. I don't care. I never did. Anyone that stands, or tries to stand in the way of love is a complete asshole. I'm enjoying our 'test run' of living together before I leave for school. Your family is great, and I love doing even the littlest things with you. Thank you for laughing at my jokes, thank you for making dinner some nights. You're a great lady, and I"m happy to have you.

Marco-While I don't get to see you much this semester, know that in terms of guys at NMU, you're probably second to none. The bond I have with you is so rare, that I relish every moment we spend together. In fact, I'll see you in about a half hour for dinner! I've shared with you over the years, I've cried with you over the years, I've been there for you, and you've always-no matter how busy-always have been there for me. You've listened when I've had shit to say, and I've returned the favor. If you end up going to Texas after this year, I'll miss ya. I can't be greedy though, a person as genuine and wonderful as you deserved to be shared by everyone.

Katie-In terms of girls I've confided in, you're the tops. Whether its running to Wal-Mart to shop like last night or just watching a movie, know that I've loved every minute together in both our runs. First as boyfriend and girlfriend, now as great friends who are always there for each other. We've shared some damn good times, and some downers as well. I'm sorry we never hung out while I dated Michelle. That is something that will bug me a little the rest of my life maybe. I guess it was just the timing of the whole thing. No matter what, I can't say enough nice words about how much you mean to me. I love your family, I love going to your house, and believe it or not, I even love your Dave Matthews obsession. Though we are different now, I still love you and always will.

Karen-Can't forget the ever beaming, ever willing to do something-even if her boyfriend doesn't come-she'll do it all without him-and that makes her somewhat better as a person than I-friend. Your smile always lights up my day. Your eyes seem to always say "hey, its not so bad...things will get better." You've always trying to stay neutral, and I can respect that, but you've also been there for me, and are there to talk about tough subjects that have came up over the last two years. You've made a big impact in a short time. Thank you for being in my life.

Puffy-I guess to start off with I should state that since these are all written in honesty, I never really fully understood you. There were far too many times we sat here in the apartment in awkward silences. I guess it was the semester of Linds (ea) y's for us, eh? First you're ordeal with Rizzi, then mine with Hilliard. I'm really glad that you stayed that extra night and we went to Border Grill to talk. I had fun, and it was kind of a capstone for me for you leaving. I enjoyed the laughs, the memories, the hard times and the bad. I know I was hard to live with in some respects, namely Lindsay being over, and if things had went differently, who knows how the semester would have went, but I'm glad I got to see you again, and list you as only my third roommate of my entire life. You're a good guy, and I know you will go far in life...if you can get out of bed. ;) Thanks for all the good times in West and all the good times with Marci.

FDM-Well, what to say about FDM. Perhaps the only friend I have that gets picked on all the damn time. What a good sport. I tell ya what though, I hope you know I love you like a brother too man. I've went to more of your plays and performances than anyone else I've met here at Northern. We've had some kick ass trips around the city as well, not to mention the Paulding Light! We saw it! Though usually oblivious to what's happening around me due to your often frantic and pulled schedule, you've always been there to say something nice or at least to make me laugh. Clue and Street Fighter II will never be forgotten. Thanks man.

Monica-What do I say to someone who I seem to fight with, reconcile, and then see the next day that she's mad at me again. I don't really know how your mind works, and at times I doubt you do either. You've been a kickass friend for a good long time, dating back 3 years. Its a damn shame that we keep fighting. You've been there for me so much, and always there to help. I just wish you could see that I don't need to spend everyday with you for you to be so special in my eyes. You're one of my favorite friends I've ever made, and I hope that someday that will mean the world to you. I just hope its before May rolls around. We've had some memories to say the least and I hope you know the only reason I ever do get mad at you (and yes I do get mad) is because I like when you are the happy, gonna-bounce-my-head-while-I-drive-doing-the-Monica-dance person that I know you can be. You have so much positive energy that I hope you can see your own potential in life and not keep slipping into mood swings. I thought my email would help our situation, but based off of your last comments, I was wrong again. I never mean to ignore you, I'm just having a rough time of it this semester with teaching.

Michelle-Gasp! Michelle! Yes that's right. Of all the people I've never talked about this year, you are at the top of this list. I don't even know if you read this, or if you'll ever see this, but then I guess I'm taking that chance with all of you. Michelle all I can say to you is "Thank you." That comment may surprise people, or it may not, either way no other two words can mean so much to me. Thank you for being perhaps the most mature person out of all of us this year and always trying to find the good side in everything. Thank you for attempting at the beginning of the year to prevent the separation of friends. Thank you for "letting me go" however much it hurt me in the short run and strengthened me in the run, it was worth it for both of us. Thank you for realizing that you weren't with who you wanted to spend your life with. But most of all thank you for keeping to yourself. I haven't heard you badmouth me this year AT ALL, and I would give you a big hug if you knew how much that meant to me. I rarely talk about you, and knowing you as intimately as I did, I doubt you talk about me all that much either. Thank you for doing what you could, it meant a lot to me.

Susan-Well, I guess I'll start by saying I wish things were different. I'll say that one of the comments that I've ever heard that has hurt me the most was your saying something along the lines of "...I can see why I didn't mourn the passing of our friendship." To say that it cut deep is the truth, to say that it is a phrase I never thought I'd hear last year is also true. I'm truly sorry you feel that way Susan. I know we will never be close like we once were, or that we will never really be friends in the true sense of the word, but you were always one of my favorite friends. I always stuck up for you. Last year in hall, a lot of people in power said some nasty shit about you, and not to sound like a savior or make myself high and mighty, but I stood up for you. I defended your name when you wanted a position such as an RA. I brought up the good job you did in Hall Gov. When others didn't seem to think so. To put it short, I was there for you. I had your back. Now, does it surprise me that you said something negative about me? No. And that's not fully a reflection of you, so much as it is a reflection of where our friendship is at. I loved having you as a friend, and there are times when even today I miss doing somethings with ya. I know I haven't been great to you this year much, but I don't understand, when I said that I was going to forgive all the past arguments we've had-forgive you, as well as forgive me-for New Year's, why wasn't that good enough? Why do you need to continue to fight, kicking and screaming. I just don't get it. And the comment about how you're happy to see Michelle finally happy? So am I. I told her straight up. I love that she is dating. However, I can tell you this, I haven't said anything bad about Michelle since we broke up. And if a friend of mine did, I still defend that time I shared with her. It was love, regardless of what became of it. I know it, Michelle knows it, and anyone who saw us knew it. I don't understand why her having a new boyfriend must entail mentioning (erroneously) why dating me was so bad. Where do you come off saying that? You were always around us when we dated and you were the one that always called us "Ma and Pa". So to say that it is nice to see her FINALLY happy, makes yourself out to be ignorant. I know that isn't the girl I was once friends with, and I hope it isn't the person Susan has become. Thought I never wanted to stop calling you a friend, I never wanted to call you an enemy either. I'm asking you one last time, as someone I've known for 3 years, please, drop this thing, and break off ties with me. I don't want such a source of negativity about me in my life. Thank you Susan.

Rizzi-Where do I start. I can't say much without your good pal Susan jumping on me, as any good friend will do, so I'll keep this short. Over the two years I've known you, I've made some mistakes. The first was ever finding you attractive as a person. The pain I've seen you inflict on people, many at the same time, is enough to make me, even in my darkest hour, jealous. I admit that straight up. In terms of being a 'bitch' you take the cake of anyone I've ever known. However...let me also say that you can be a good friend. At one time, I did consider you a friend. Not a close one, such as Monica or Karen, but a friend nonetheless. However, after seeing you screw up Puffy's life, I came to regret that you ever met him. I find it so sad that his friends of years and years act different towards him now due to what you've 'drugged' them with. I do not think you are a positive person in life, and that's just how I'm calling it. True people will say this and that about that comment, but they all have a different perspective, whether it be roommate or friend or lover, than I have as just a human being. You and Susan are both great people. However, when you get together there must be some kind of negative energy or something that breeds, because the two of you come out swinging and there's no stopping whatever rampage it is you are on today. As I asked Susan, please, just cut me out of my life and don't act like my good friends are you good friends as well, cause that's just ridiculous. I've been through more with them than they have with you, and I only mention that because it shows how much deeper a bond I have with them. So do I get defensive when someone says something about me and them? Damn right I do. You are an interesting person, Rizzi, and one I hope never to meet again.
